MCAC at SURF 2016

Catching the Research Wave

Over the summer the MCAC mentored two high school students participating in the Summer Biomedical Training Program (SBTP) at UMBC. The students studied protein digestion, practicing various laboratory techniques and learning about chromatography and mass spectrometry.

Both students mentored in the MCAC by facility manager Josh Wilhide presented individual posters at this year's 19th Annual SURF.

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fest (SURF) provides students the opportunity to present the research they have done over the summer to their peers, family and friends, and other researchers.

Kayla and Quincy discuss their experience with SBTP and the MCAC in this UMBC news article:

The MCAC is so proud of Kayla and Quincy!
